This dinosaur is often dubbed as the “African T-rex” due its size and some similar traits as the North American’s T-Rex; however, it is not part of the Tyrannosauridae family but part of the Abelisauridae family. This creature roamed in the same area and time period as the Spinosaurus. Existed during the Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous Epoch in Northern Africa between 99 to 93 million years ago. Many consider this as one of the largest meat eating land dinosaurs of all time.
