SD Rocks N Stuff originated in the Christmas of 2018, when Marco, the owner, received his first fossil as a gift-a Spinosaurus dinosaur tooth. He was extremely fascinated by it and by the fact that it was something natural that came from the Earth, what he considered a treasure from nature. It then inspired him to collect other natural treasures as well as fossils, such as gems and ocean artifacts. As his collection grew vast, Marco would periodically do a "show and tell" day at his work where he would show his items to his coworkers. His favorite thing to show was his Australian opals.

It was in the year of 2020 that one of Marco's coworkers asked him if he could make her a ring from one of his opals. He pondered the possibility, and with the support of his partner, Sarah, SD Rocks N Stuff was set into motion. Marco taught himself how to make jewelry. He eventually branched out into other gems, such as abalone, amethyst, and sea glass.

The shop grew from its beginnings on Etsy, then to Instagram, to being featured at artisan market events and stores, and now, we are delighted to announce that we are among the exceptional vendors at the store “Stacked XChange” in Parkway Plaza mall in El Cajon, California, selling our merchandise.

In the recent years, we lost Marco’s extremely kind-hearted brother, Junior. We continue our company in support of his memory, as our company would not exist without him. The main reason Marco had started collecting fossils in the first place was so his brother could experience and enjoy them, as Junior had a passion for dinosaurs.
