Spinosaurus aegyptiacus was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs ever to roam the Earth, living approximately 95–100 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous Period. It inhabited the ancient rivers, swamps, and coastal wetlands of what is now North Africa. Recognizable by its towering sail-like spine and crocodile-like snout, Spinosaurus was a semi-aquatic predator whose diet consisted primarily of fish, though it likely also hunted smaller dinosaurs and scavenged when opportunities arose.
